The Community of Albanians of the Sisak-Moslavina County

Roots that connect us – a future we build.

Welcome to the official website of ZASMŽ. We are a place of connection, culture, and unity – preserving our language and traditions while sharing the stories, successes, and laughter of our community. Join us in safeguarding who we are and shaping what is yet to come.

About us

The Community of Albanians of the Sisak-Moslavina County was founded in 2004 to preserve the language, culture, and identity of Albanians in Croatia. We are not just a cultural association – we are a shared home: a place of identity, dialogue, and bridges between generations. Our goal is for every member to feel recognized and for our voice to be seen and respected.

In Memoriam to the Founder – Agim Gjidoda

Agim Gjidoda passed away in 2025. He left behind not only an association but also memories of a man who was warm, approachable, and always ready to help others. He is remembered for his strength, determination, and vision – a man who knew how to lead others, set clear goals, and demand the best from himself and those around him. Generations within the community remember him — some as a president, others as a friend, and for his family, he was a pillar and an example of perseverance.

Albanians in Croatia

Albanians have been present in Croatia for centuries, leaving an important mark on the economy, culture, and social life. According to the latest census, more than 17,500 Albanians live in Croatia, with a significant community in Sisak and Kutina. Our role is to preserve this identity and pass it on to future generations.

Albanians live in Croatia and, according to the latest census, contribute significantly to its social and cultural life.
